About
Normandie Luscher is a professional illustrator and tenure track Assistant Professor at Syracuse University in the Illustration Program. She earned her MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in the Illustration Practice Program. Her artwork is bright and colorful and seeks to represent unique stories and diverse characters that balance real world issues with humor and elements of fantasy. Her work has been recognized by American Illustration, 3x3, Creative Quarterly and Applied Arts and she has worked with several clients including the House that Lars Built, Dig Inn and Mighty Kind Kids Magazine. Normandie enjoys riveting sad girl authors from the 18th and 19th centuries like Jane Austen and the Brontë Sisters as well as biting contemporary comedians like Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling and Michelle Wolf. She is a native of the mid atlantic area in Northern Virginia, D.C. and Baltimore, which influences her semi autobiographical storytelling. She also has a cat named Squirrel who is the queen of their apartment in Syracuse, New York.
